Our Story: From a Helping Hand to a Trusted Name in European Glazing Systems
An Unexpected Beginning
It’s interesting how the collective good and bad events in one’s life can often alter a person’s direction so much that when looking back on them, they stand out as a sharp turn rather than a sequence of events.
Paul and Allan were first introduced to Reynaers Aluminum products when they volunteered a week of construction labour to a family in crisis. The family was undergoing a DIY renovation to their home when the mother fell critically ill landing her on the waiting list for a heart transplant. The father was naturally stretched thin between spending time with his wife, taking care of his children and holding down his job. When Paul and Allan learned that the family’s home needed some urgent roof framing, they didn’t hesitate to put their own project on hold and donate their time.
A Career Shift Through Kindness
Once life stabilized for the family, the grateful father reached out to Paul and Allan to see if they would be interested in installing some Reynaers Aluminum folding doors that he was selling part time and thus, through a simple act of kindness Paul and Allan’s career trajectories seemingly changed overnight.
They soon found themselves working full time for the father with Paul handling sales, operations, and business development while Allan mastered the art of installation. Together, they faced many integration challenges as adding European window and door systems into North American building envelopes had no clear set of instructions. As it happened the over 20 years background in custom building and renovations gave the team an edge.
Building Industry Recognition
Their expertise caught attention in the industry, leading to Paul’s recruitment as General Manager to start up a company that would be dedicated to fabricating and installing Reynaers Aluminum products. Paul quickly brought Allan on board to manage installations and under their leadership, the company flourished, achieving substantial growth and establishing a strong market presence before they decided to venture out on their own.

Times have certainly changed since the early days when large aluminum sliding and folding systems were not well known. Today, the number of companies fabricating or importing these systems is growing sharply.
